X-rays are a necessary part of the regular dental checkups. They give your dentist vital information that he/she can’t get from any other source. Your dentist uses them to:

What is a Cavity and how does it form ?
Cavity is tooth decay. It is primarily caused by acids in the mouth. Plaque is the sticky film of food and bacteria that form constantly on your teeth. If you don’t remove plaque every day, these bacteria produce acid are what create a hole in your tooth. What is root canal ?
When the nerve of the tooth becomes infected, root canal treatment can save the tooth. Germs causes infection in the root canal and that builds up pus at the root tip. This creates a hole in the bone. The infected tooth will never heal on its own, and as it gets worse, it will continue to be a source of infection that weakens your immune system. This can affect your entire body. This damage to the bone and the swelling inside the bone can also be excruciatingly painful, and even life-threatening. Why do i need a crown ?
Small cavities can be fixed with fillings because there is still plenty of healthy tooth structure. However this is not the case with large cavities. When there is a large Cavity in the tooth or previously filled large cavity starts breaking then a crown is needed. A crown strengthen a damaged tooth by covering and protecting it. Gum (Periodontal) Therapy
Unfortunately, periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile, it can cause loss of teeth and eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems. It is called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack your mouths soft tissues. Early warning signs of the disease include red, swollen, bleeding gums. Once you meet our dentist at German Dental Oasis the dentst can then determine whether you have periodontal disease by measuring the size of your pockets, or spaces or gaps in the gums around the teeth. This done with a special instrument that is much like a tiny ruler. Pockets that measure 4 or more millimeters (mm) in depth, and /or gums that bleed during probing, may mean that infection is present. Many steps will be taken by our health care providers to help you thru this process.
